The short version

You can browse the gallery, download designs and make a stencil with no account. We don’t use cookies or third-party tracking pixels. The only personal information we ever hold is an email you type in yourself — and the only reason to do that is to get a credit code back after a purchase.

Stencil conversion is local

When you turn a design into a stencil, the image is processed in your browser — your artwork is never uploaded to a server.

Live generation

If live generation is enabled and you use it, your text prompt is sent to our generation service to create an image. We don’t attach your identity to it; rate limiting uses an anonymous, cookieless signal.

Anonymous usage analytics

We collect privacy-friendly, aggregate events (such as “a design was downloaded”). They are cookieless and contain no personal information — an anonymous session id that resets daily.

What happens when you generate a design

The words you type are sent to our generation endpoint and on to the image model that draws it. We keep an anonymous row per generation — the style you picked, whether it succeeded, what it cost us and a one-way hash of your text — so we can count usage and spot abuse. We do not store the text itself, and we do not store the image. Your IP is hashed together with the date and truncated, which is how the daily free limit works without us keeping an address. Browsing the gallery and using the stencil tool send nothing at all — the stencil runs entirely in your browser.

Credit packs and email

If you buy a credit pack, payment is handled by Stripe and we never see your card. The email you paid with is stored alongside your code so we can give the code back if you lose it. Ask us to delete it any time at support@freetattoo.app.
